Goodwin Procter Diversity Fellowships

Dear Mr. Averion:

As the Hiring Committee Chairman of Goodwin Procter LLP, I am reaching out to you in your role as a leader of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association to inform you of the 2006 Goodwin Diversity Fellowships. Intended to promote diversity in the legal profession and at our firm, these Fellowships provide up to three annual awards of $15,000 each to minority second-year law students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, outstanding leadership, a commitment to community service, interest in the private practice of law, and other special achievements and honors.

We launched the Goodwin Diversity Fellowships in the Fall of 2005, and awarded $15,000 each to three Fellows: Nilda Isidro of NYU School of Law, Charles Borrero of Georgetown University Law Center, and Marie Scott of Harvard Law School.

As you may know, Goodwin Procter LLP is one of the nation’s leading law firms, and is headquartered in Boston, with offices in New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco and Los Angeles. The firm’s core areas of practice are corporate, litigation and real estate, with specialized areas of focus that include financial services, private equity, technology companies, REITs and real estate capital markets, intellectual property and products liability.

We would greatly appreciate your help in forwarding this e-mail as appropriate to your fellow students who are entering their second year of law school this Fall. Goodwin Diversity Fellows will be chosen from among those students who express interest in joining our Summer Program, submit a Fellowship application, and complete the Fellowship interview process.

To be eligible, you and/or your classmates will need to complete an application and, if possible, sign up to interview with us on-campus when we are at Boston College on Thursday, August 31, 2006 as part of our 2L summer associate interview process. Anyone applying for a Fellowship who is not able to obtain a slot to interview with us on campus should e-mail us at fellowships@goodwinprocter.com to request a screening interview, which will be arranged if our preliminary qualifications are met. Further information and application forms for Goodwin Diversity Fellowships can be found on our website at:

http://www.goodwinprocter.com/Our%20Firm/Diversity/The_Goodwin_Diversity_Fellowsh.aspx

Applications are currently available on our website. Applications are due within two weeks of a candidate’s initial interview with the firm for a Summer Associate position.

Please e-mail us at fellowships@goodwinprocter.com if you have any questions or would like further information.

Sincerely,

Larry Cahill
